Many of you visiting my site may be new to the world of tattooing… here are some quick tips for sending me info!
Know what you want!
Have an idea or general theme prepared to talk about during a scheduled consultation or interactions via email.
DO NOT GET LOST IN THE GOOGLE/PINTREST HOLE
Reference images and ideas from these websites are amazing, but if you cannot find exactly what you want tattooed, don’t fret! Save the images that speak the most to you and show me for ideas or just tell me what you’re envisioning. Clients get caught in the depths of the internet and the image or idea you began searching (ex. hummingbird tattoo) has turned into a completely unrelated subject matter (a phoenix rising with a castle in the background with gargoyles) … I strongly suggest sending me no more than 3-5 images to start.
REMEMBER, I can draw!
The most amazing thing about tattoos is the very personal and intimate experience of putting something on your body that you feel connected to… with that being said, I WILL NOT directly copy any images off the internet, especially if it is a photo of someone else’s tattoo already.
It’s tattoo plagiarism and I would rather make something completely unique for you so you don’t have the same exact tattoo as a million other people have.You: 'How much for a small tattoo?’
Me: ‘How much for a black car?’
That black car could be a beat up, 20 yr old vehicle worth $2,000 or it could be a Lamborghini… This seemingly relevant way of describing the size and estimated cost of what you want, IS NOT, AT ALL. Be specific, use objects as reference (ie the size of a piece of notebook paper, a golf ball, softball, height of a soda can).
MONEY, MONEY, MONNAYYYYYY… MONNNNNNAYYYYYYYY!
Cost and budget is important to discuss. If there is a budget constraint you need me to stay within, I will respect that and I fully understand that everyone has life and bills and other things to worry about. Please understand that this is also how I pay for all of those things for myself and my family.
